Cooling Water Treatment Training Course

World-class cooling systems training delivered by leading experts.
WTS 0050 “Cooling Water Systems & Evaporative Cooling” is a comprehensive one day cooling water treatment training course developed by the industrial and process specialists at WTS.
The course is designed for plant operators, water treatment service engineers, facilities managers, maintenance and engineering contractors, and those with responsibility for commercial and industrial cooling towers and other cooling systems.
What is cooling water treatment training?
Cooling water treatment training is a specialised development programme designed to equip water treatment engineers, facilities managers, maintenance staff, and contractors with the knowledge and skills needed to manage and maintain water quality in cooling systems. Such systems are commonly found in both commercial and industrial settings such as HVAC installations, process and manufacturing facilities where water is used to absorb and remove heat.
Training covers water chemistry, strategies to prevent scaling, corrosion, and biofouling, the correct use of treatment chemicals, equipment maintenance, water analysis and regulatory compliance. It is essential for optimising the performance and life of cooling systems, reducing energy consumption, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, particularly those relating to the control of Legionella bacteria.
Overview of our cooling water systems course
WTS 0050 provides a review of common cooling water systems and cooling towers including open recirculating and evaporative cooling systems. Candidates taking this course will gain an understanding of the issues that affect the performance of cooling systems including the formation of scale, suspended solids, metallic corrosion and bio-fouling, and how to deal with them effectively.
Additionally, the course covers a number of practical examples, including how to conduct basic fault-finding investigations and the development of cost effective cooling water treatment solutions.
