Our specialist legionella training courses for 2024 and 2025 include Legionella Awareness, Responsible Person, Duty Holder and Refresher training.
Public courses are run at convenient locations throughout the United Kingdom including London, Manchester and Glasgow. We also offer training courses that can be delivered exclusively for your staff, at your premises.
Each course has been developed to support individuals with responsibility for the management and control of legionella and Legionnaires’ disease in the workplace. Our courses give people the knowledge and skills to fulfil their responsibilities with confidence.
Is legionella training required by law?
The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 places a general duty on all employers to provide suitable training to ensure the safety and health of their employees in the workplace.
The Health and Safety Executive deal with the requirement for legionella training more specifically in their Approved Code of Practice ACOP L8 stating that it is important that anyone involved in managing and controlling Legionella risks must be properly trained to a standard that ensures tasks are performed in a safe and technically competent manner. In short, they MUST be competent to do thier job.
The Health and Safety Executive also recommend that regular auditing and refresher training be carried out to help ensure people’s skills are kept up to date.
Legionella training course dates and locations for 2024 – 2025
Our main UK training centres are located in central London, Manchester and Glasgow and these are supported by satellite training centres in Birmingham, Bristol and Newcastle. Courses are also delivered live online by one of our experienced water safety specialists using an interactive Microsoft TEAMS format.
We can also deliver our training courses exclusively at client premises, and further afield for clients based outside the UK.
